What I asked for versus what I got. The old money bob, baby! Old money bob hair is blowing up the internet and I am here for it!
Can this haircut be anymore perfect?
How do you get the haircut that you actually want? This is a question I get asked on YouTube repeatedly. Here are some tips:
1. Go to someone who is very good at doing the thing you want. Look through their online portfolio and see if their aesthetic and style alines with yours. Do you visually vibe with them?
2. Explain what you want clearly WITH VISUAL references. Stylists are visual people. Find lots of pictures to show your stylist what you like and be open to your stylist’s opinions about it. If they say it won’t work, believe them. If you don’t believe them (*you don’t trust them) or think they don’t know how to do it, it may be time to go see someone else.
3. Show your stylist (with pictures) what you DO NOT like. For a stylist, knowing what you don’t like is sometimes even more important than knowing what you do like.
4. Get the stylist to repeat what you want. Really amazing stylists like Charise do this instinctively but if yours doesn’t, just say “can you repeat what you are visualizing for this cut so I know that we are on the same page?”
Save this to refer back to for your next haircut.
