Adriana Lima comes from Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. She moved to New York to start a modelling career after winning a competition in her native country in 1996. She's often associated with Victoria's Secret and in fact an "angel" of th lingerie brand, but she works with numerous brands such as Givenchy, Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Maybelline, Donna Karan and Valentino. She has posed for Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and many other fashion magazines. She also works with the Clinton global Initiative, which aims to create and implement innovative solutions to the world's most urgent problems.
